St Francis Xavier Church

St. Francis Xavier Church, also known as Bejai Church, is a historic Roman Catholic Church situated in the Bejai locality of Mangalore.

 The church was built in 1869 on a plot of land measuring 5.37 acres at Bejai, which was obtained from the British government. The original structure was a chapel from which Sunday masses were offered.


The church was constructed in 1928 and is one of the well Know churches in Mangalore.

Parishioners gather around here for various occasion such a Christmas, Easter, Good Friday services, Sunday and daily services with devotion.

The architecture of the church is from old British and complementing the Mangalorean style. the simple and artistic designs of the church is regularly maintained by the parishioners who even contribute for renovating it.
