Bandar Port

Mangaluru located at the the Dakshin Kannada district, with a close connection to the Arabian Sea making it a hub for Business and various form trades. One of the biggest trading is of Fishes. 

Every morning when Mangaloreans are still asleep;This part of the city is awake, Beginning their day by collecting their share of fishes from the fisher men who reach Bandar Port.

With around 300 boat reaching the port for  their dealers and exporters of fishers, the port looks busy.

More than 2000 Fisher women collect their fishes from port daily for their stocks and distribute in the city and earn their living.

Tannirbhavi beach

Tannirbhavi beach is a beach in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Currently, it can only be reached by land near Kuloor Bridge or by ferry viaGurupura river from Sultan Battery.

With the beautiful sand and Trees around also known as lovers point.

Sultan Battery

The Sultan Battery watch tower, constructed in 1784 by Tipu Sultan is situated in Boloor,4 km from the center of Mangalore city, the chief port city in the state of Karnataka, India.

The place was previously known as Sultan's Battery, the word Battery meaning firing of canons. It was constructed from stones of 23 churches destroyed by Tipu Sultan, during his 15-year imprisonment of the Mangalorean Catholics and the other Christians.

The place built of black stones was constructed to obstruct war ships from entering the river which was the major route for English invasion but was then retrieved from English by Tipu Sultan. Today it is beautiful sunset point plus a small port to visit Tanir Bhavi.

If one climbs to the top of the watch tower by stairs, he can get a panoramic view of Arabian Sea which leaves nature lovers in boundless joy. This place is a blend of natural and manmade beauty. It is now a nearly deserted place with a few shacks and a boating club nearby, but is gathering popularity among tourists because of the pervading eternal bliss of nature.

Mangalore tiles (also Mangalorean tiles) are a type of tile native to the city of Mangalore, India. The tiles were first introduced to India in 1860 by a German missionary. Since that time, the industry has flourished in India with these red tiles, prepared from hard laterite clay, in great demand throughout the country.

They are exported to Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and the Far East and even as far as East Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia.These were the only tiles recommendeded for government buildings in India under the British Raj.

The Tiles are separated with the help of workers who try to listen to the sound made by hitting the tiles.which is segregated on the basis for Good, better and best quality and sold at a price of Rupees  8.38, 11.45 and 14.95 respectively.

Despite Lot of hardships the factory is still working with few dedicated workers, creating awareness among people for healthy benefits of Mud Roof Tiles these  roof remains for 100 years if used properly.
